Lachlan Kennedy

Lachlan Kennedy is the Sport Presenter for WIN Television’s leading local news bulletin in Canberra and surrounding regions. Alongside News Presenter, Jessica Good, Lachlan is part of the highly professional WIN team delivering the most up-to-date local news every weeknight.

Lachlan’s television career began at Southern Cross Ten in May 2007, where he produced and presented more than 3,600 news updates. Lachlan joined the Canberra WIN News room in June 2008 reporting on federal politics, transport, the environment and climate change.

He has covered many critical stories including the Rudd Government’s plans to turn Australia into carbon economy, the 2008 ACT Election and the global economic downturn.

Filling in as news and sport presenter, Lachlan became a permanent reader for the Canberra bulletin on Monday, 29 June 2009.

Interviewing high-powered government officials to world-famous sporting identities and even movie stars, Lachlan loves the daily unpredictability of his job and the community connection. He continues to spearhead WIN’s ACT political coverage whilst presenting sport.

Lachlan is an all round sportsman, having played basketball from age eight – he continues to play today, as well as referee the game. He has also played soccer, AFL and ice hockey and was also representative long distance runner.

Lachlan studied at the Australian National University graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (International Relations and Political Science). He has also completed post-graduate studies in Marketing Communication.

Outside of work, Lachlan’s favourite things include good coffee, the beach and Sunday morning snoozes.

Lachlan is community-minded and often works for local charities including Camp Quality, The Red Cross and the Cancer Council. As an ambassador for month long charity Movember, Lachlan helped the ACT raise a record $600,000. His moustache attracted great applause and ridicule!
