For athletes in regions isolated from top quality coaches, the Far West Academy of Sport's development camp in Warren is the ideal opportunity to improve their game.

Around 150 athletes attended the annual two day event.

They were made up of rugby league, netball and golf squads as well as those from the elite Lone Star program.

In conjunction, trials for this year's tennis and swimming camp were also conducted.

Among the coaches was Jim Fowlie - head swimming coach at the New South Wales who said national selection was not beyond these athletes.

The future hopefuls received tips on a number of topics including, drugs in sport, media skills, core strength and speed and agility - information that will help with training on their own.
