Wollongong Council secured the loan from the State Government to use in improving the access to and from West Dapto. The Dapto Neighbourhood Forum says the infrastructure will be a boost for the community but doubts the changes proposed for the Bong Bong Road Rail Crossing will fix the traffic problems there. Meanwhile Shellharbour Council is disappointed the Shell Cove Marina missed out on the infrastructure funding grants. Administrator David Jesson says the funding would have moved the recommencement of work from 2012 to now and generated more than 7000 jobs for the region.
