In two serious incidents in Orange over the weekend, a man was stabbed during a break-in and another was arrested for possession of shortened firearms.

 

In Maple Crescent Orange, on Sunday morning, a 39 year-old home-owner heard noises coming from a shed at the rear of his home.

 

He confronted a man and was stabbed in the arm and back during a scuffle.

 

Inspector McLean said theft appears to be the motive for the incident.

 

Meanwhile, police arrested a 19 year-old man after allegedly finding a shortened firearm in his backpack.

 

Cameron Priest faced 16 firearms related charges when he appeared in Orange Local Court today.

 

He was released on bail and will re-appear on March 9.
