Residents on the outskirts of Queanbeyan today launched a vocal tirade on their local politicians over a section of the Kings Highway upgrade.
Steve Whan and Mike Kelly were announcing pre-construction but instead had to defend their government's twenty six million dollar investment.
They were were none too pleased that their photo opportunity was taken over by a Pirate Flag zip tied to the fence by outraged residents.
They failed to find a pair of scissors to remove it, but they did find the humour in it.
"Ahh it is interesting it is obviously not National Pirates Day," said Mr Kelly.
The State and Federal local members maintain the upgrade has been on the drawing board for years.
