Dozens of Tasmanian personalities have moonlighted as McDonald's employees for McHappy Day.
The annual fundraiser supports families with seriously ill children.
He's usually giving the government a grilling but today Senator Eric Abetz swapped the Opposition benches for the counter at McDonalds in Kingston.
Money raised on McHappy day goes to Ronald McDonald Houses around the nation - to provide assistance to sick children.
Here in Tasmania, our 'house' is a home away from home for around 400 families a year.
Penny Richardson from Ronald McDonald House said "Often for those families they have no accomodation when they come to Hobart so we provide an accomodation facility and we like to think it's more than just a roof over our heads."
That's the case for Launceston couple - Troy and Sarah Huggins.
Sarah Huggins is just 28 weeks pregnant but is expected to go into labour any day.
She said "The hospital is just across the road so that's just such an ease to us if anything was to go wrong we're right there and everythings near us, I dont know what we'd do if we didn't have Ronald McDonald."
Also fundraising - Camp Quality - a charity which brightens up the lives of children living with cancer.
World renowned scultpor - Peter Bignall - the main attraction at a family fun day in Glenorchy.
Rose Davis from Camp Quality Tasmania said "We're all about optimism and we believe laughter is the best medicine so that's what we try and achieve with this program."
