The investigation into ground water contamination at Rosebery is to be reopened.
The Health Department says a doctor has provided new information after treating sick residents.
Residents of the north western community are still concerned they're being poisoned by mining activity.
They claim ground water is contaminated with heavy metals.
The health department says it can't find any link between resident's symptoms, and the environment.
Public Health Director, Roscoe Taylor said "We've tried to encourage residents here to keep an open mind on the fact that their health symptoms and signs often have potential other causes."
But a doctor has come forward with more cases, voicing his concern to the department, and re-opening the investigation.
Health Minister Lara Giddings said "It was the right process, we did follow through on that process but since then we've had further information, new information brought to our attention."
Some residents are moving away from the area.
Ex - Rosebery Resident, Kay Seltitzas said "I do welcome a new investigation however it's not really going to help us, we're out of the contamination now, the damage is done."
The Public Health Director criticises some residents for making their previous investigation harder.
Dr Taylor said "Our previous investigations into this issue at Rosebery were extensive. They were limited in some clinical areas by the difficulty that some residents didn't consent to their clinical reports being given to us."
The residents say they provided access to the EPA to test food preparation areas for contamination.
Ms Seltitzas said "They contacted the residents and said that they wanted to test the toilets. As none of us cook or eat in the toilets we found that was really strange, and we decided to deny them access."
Experts from around the country will be brought in the latest attempt to determine the risk to residents.
