Rob Zammit graduated as a veteriarian from Sydney University 1977, but has owned, trained and bred dogs and cats since a child.  He simply loves being a veteriarian and feels both very lucky and extremely honoured to be able to look after people's pets.

The resident attending veteriarain at the African Lion Safari at Warragamba, meant working with lots of different animals from elephants to penguins. There was even a seal cub at home at one time! One of the highlights was working with the dolphins that were resident at Warragamba for many years. Still today, looking after the Bullen's exotic animals means that it is not unusual to see an African Lion or a Tiger at Vineyard Vineyard Hospital.

His children enjoy the interaction with animals both domestic (since they have several dogs, cats, horses, birds and even a goat at home) and exotic, but they realise how privlidged they were a few years ago to have tiger cubs raised in their home. The kids loved running and playing chasing games with them but realised it was time for the tigers to go when they'd catch the kids and bring them down in the hallway!

Media work for Rob began as a consultant for one of the longest running Australian drama's, "A Country Practice." Rob only worked behind the camera in those days but Terry Willese decided to try him on his current affair program, "Terry Willese Tonight". When that show closed Rob was asked to join the TODAY program and then progressed to "Burke's Backyard" where he met and married the pet road test reporter Fiona Fearon.

They have two children, Charlotte and Ainsley and live on their small acerage along with the Veterinary hospital and all their animals! "Having my family around me allows me to work the hours I do; without my wife I doubt I could achieve half of what I manage each day."

A proud Australia, though not born in this country, Rob takes great pride in having been an Australia Day Ambassador for the last twelve years, assisting in various Australia Day cermonies around the State, but most of all enjoying being with other patriotic Australians on one of the best days of the year. "My country, Australia is easily the best country in the world; whenever I go overseas this fact is confirmed over and over again. And flying in across our harbour and seeing the bridge, well I'm not ashamed to say that it gives me a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye whenever I come home. Go Australia!"
