WIN News Canberra and Surrounding Regions

LOCAL EXPERIENCE IS THE DIFFERENCE

Since its first bulletin went to air, WIN News has always been driven by a clear purpose – loyalty to locals in regional southern NSW and the ACT. The network began broadcasting from Wollongong in 1963 and over the course of more than 50 years in some markets, this nightly, half-hour bulletin has remained a vital constant in reporting the community’s milestones, musings and memorable moments.

Giving the regional community a voice is also a key driver that has seen the WIN Network extend far beyond the Illawarra. Today, the network reaches more than 6 million viewers across six states and the ACT. It broadcasts to more of regional Australia than any other free-to-air television network and is the most prolific producer of local regional news bulletins in the country – an accolade reflective of its proud news heritage.

“WIN’s commitment to news is stronger than ever,” says NSW Director of News, Stella Lauri. “WIN produces 16 half hour news bulletins and an hour long All Australian News Bulletin each weeknight. No other network can match that. The way the network gathers and delivers news has evolved with new technology and WIN is at the forefront of it all.”

With award-winning reporters and production crew who actually live, work and play in their news region, there’s no better source to gather the stories that really matter to the communities of Canberra and its surrounding regions.

Turn to WIN News, weeknights at 6pm with Geoff Phillips and Amy Duggan and discover that local experience is the difference.
